OUR PURPOSE

The core dynamics of the Porter County Parks Foundation is to hold property and fund the development and programming of public lands and parks within Porter County, Indiana. It is committed to public education in matters of conserving agriculture, maintaining land as a natural resource, and the practice of creating and supporting a sustainable environment through community partnerships, volunteerism and financial donations . Its primary function is to raise money through solicitation, grants, and public events while being fiscally responsible. These monies help to support land acquisitions, programming, and scholarships for the further development of public programs. The Board Members of the Porter County Parks Foundation work hard to provide its communities with access to high quality educational and recreational programs for families at a substantially reduced cost.

We believe in promoting green space preservation projects and the use of our county parks

by supporting programs offered by our Porter County Parks & Recreation Department.

First Let'S HAVE some FUN!

Camp FUNset

The Porter County Parks Foundation helps to support programming throughout the Parks–notably Camp FUNset, a summer camp at Sunset Hill Farm Park which provides affordable day-long care, adventure, and outdoor learning to hundreds of children each year. PCPF strives to provide scholarships to many families in need of support to send their children to Camp FUNset.

Now let's TALK STEM

Parks & STEM

The Porter County Parks Foundation will promote STEM programs at our new Horton Family Children's Education Center. STEM programs teach our children about the four disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. These programs will provide hands-on and relevant learning experiences.

STEM programs help students understand the world around them. STEM programs will help promote learning through concepts of innovation, problem-solving, crtitical thinking, and collaboration.

Let's POWER UP!

Anti-Bullying & Character Building

We also support the Anti-Bullying and Character Building programs which are designed to teach students and other groups the "Positive Power" of working together in an outdoor, challenge based setting.
